Brothers sharpening one another: meet the 2025-2026 male Resident Assistants!

Posted by Clay Ramirez and Andrea LaBelle on 7/28/25 2:58 PM

male RAs 2025-2026Hello, PHC students (and soon-to-be students)! Here's a chance to get to know your RA but also get a sneak peek at what they might have planned for the coming semester. For those who don't know, Resident Assistants provide care, guidance, advice, and spiritual leadership in their dorms, acting as the touchpoint between students and the administration. Their responsibilities include leading Wing Chapel twice a week and planning events for their wings.

Now, without further ado, here is what the guys shared with us!

Fun fact: I have played guitar for over twelve years.

Being an RA: I am most looking forward to wing chapels and getting to know all of the guys in my wing!

Wing Chapel: I'm not sure yet what we'll study in Wing Chapel, but I'm looking forward to it being a time of encouragement and prayer, centered around God's Word.

Wing theme: I have a few ideas, but I'm not sure about my wing theme yet. However, for wing events, I'm hoping to organize bowling nights!

Fun fact: I dabble with the mandolin.

Being an RA: I am looking forward to helping younger brothers grow in their faith as godly men.

Wing Chapel: I am hoping to do a more topical study on what godly living looks like.

Wing theme: I am thinking of doing Exodus. What that looks like is yet to be determined, but the 10 plagues will definitely be involved.

Fun fact: I played in the Disc Golf Junior World Championships in high school.

Being an RA: I'm most looking forward to building relationships with the guys in my wing and doing random fun stuff in the wing.

Wing Chapel: I'm planning to do a study on the different aspects of what it looks like to be a godly man. Each day, we will focus on a different aspect or trait, using different passages from the Bible to create a cohesive picture of a godly man.

Wing theme: I haven't 100% decided, but some ideas I've thrown around or have had recommended to me are The Dawg Pound (which would just be themed around dogs) or, potentially, the Pirates. I'm not really sure with this one, but I have the summer to decide.

Fun Fact: I did mutton busting in the State rodeo as a kid.

Being an RA: Getting to know the returners better and meeting the freshmen.

Wing Chapel: A study on prayer—going through prayers in Scripture. Also, possibly going through J.C. Ryle's Thoughts for Young Men.

Wing event: Tractor theme? In talks with John Deere and Kubota about their competing bids to sponsor.

Montpelier RAs

Ty Everman

Ty EvermanFun fact: I wear my retainer every night.

Being an RA: I'm most looking forward to making sure the freshmen don't make fools of themselves.

Wing chapel: Brothers sharpening one another so that we know what we actually believe.

Wing event: Little Debbie, Casio, or K-pop. It's too soon to tell.

Being an RA: I'm most looking forward to the freshman vs. RA ultimate frisbee game.

Wing Theme: The Jungle Wing.

Fun fact: My only day of public school was in Denmark.

Being an RA:  The responsibility and joy of working with people and guiding them in the way they should go.

Wing Chapel: I would like to do testimonies from some of the guys as well as walk through specific passages of Scripture, though I am unsure of which ones. I want Wing Chapel to be a place where men can gather and dive into God's Word with people who know them and who will support them and build them up.

Wing Theme: A Great Cloud of Witnesses. That will likely look like having quotes from Christians past and present on the walls, along with visual reminders of the Church throughout the ages and throughout the world.

Evan Lopez

Fun fact: I can wiggle my ears independently of each other.

Being an RA: I most look forward to building relationships with the guys in my wing and growing alongside them!

Wing Chapel: I want to do a topical study on different subjects that are relevant to everyone in the wing, like biblical manhood, forgiveness, wisdom, etc.

Wing Theme: Possibly Spartan/Peloponnesian War, 1930s Detective Noir, or Ireland.

Being an RA: I'm really, really excited to have freshmen in my wing.

Wing Theme: Lord of the Rings.

Josh Revoir

Fun fact: I once co-moderated a mayoral debate for the town of Purcellville.

Being an RA: I'm excited to become better friends with the men in the wing, enrich my relationship with Christ through them, and see what trouble we get into.

Wing Chapel: We'll go through the accounts of godly men (King David, Elijah, Jesus Christ, the Apostles, etc.) and endeavor to pursue godly masculinity.

Wing Theme: Shrek.

Alex Rubstein

Alex RubsteinFun fact: One of my pet peeves is when people walk unnecessarily quickly.

Being an RA: I'm thankful for the opportunity to practice how to more humbly and sacrificially lead the guys in my wing. Above all, I desire to put on the mind of Christ who humbled himself, becoming obedient to the point of death (Philippians 2:3-8).

Wing Chapel: The details of Wing Chapel will be fleshed out as I get to know the guys in my wing better. What I do know is this: "preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, and exhort, with complete patience and teaching." (2 Timothy 4:2). The Word will be taught.

Wing event: I'm currently brainstorming new ideas. If I don't come up with anything, my wing will continue as the "Dad wing." Think dad jokes plastered on the wall, Hawaiian shirts, long socks, etc.

Red Hill RAs

Ben Spivey

Ben SpiveyFun fact: I've been surfing with sharks.

Being an RA: I'm looking forward to seeing how the campus changes over the next couple of semesters as our small community welcomes new members.

Wing Chapel: We will primarily study 2 Timothy, James, and 1 John. These are three books that have deeply shaped how I think about living in the light of Christ’s Gospel.

Wing theme: Bouncing a couple of ideas around: Gladiator, the American West (cowboys, gunslingers, etc)

Wyatt Trull

Fun fact: I’m tall and I don’t like basketball. Everyone asks me if I play basketball, and the answer is always the same. No. No, I don’t play basketball. I never have, probably never will. I guess that’s strange to some people haha. But that’s just me.

Being an RA: I think I’m most looking forward to just getting to be one of the first people that some of the new freshmen in my wing see when they come on campus. I’ve been blessed by so many people at PHC, and I’m excited to have the opportunity to give back to other people and serve the men in my wing.

Wing Chapel: My vision for Wing Chapel this year is that I am going to treat Tuesdays and Thursdays a little differently. On Tuesdays, I would like to go through the book, “Thoughts for Young Men” by J.C. Ryle. On Thursdays, I plan on going through a passage of Scripture that corresponds to some of the things we read earlier that week. I want to have an emphasis on what it really looks like to lead life as a man of God. I want to learn principles on one level, and then, through discussion, talk about how those principles apply on the level of everyday choices and decisions.

Wing Theme: I think my wing theme for next year will be the “Right Wing.” Cheesy? Yeah, I know. It’s a play on words. I’m thinking of decorating with lots of patriotic/conservative iconography.Meet the female RAs (2025-26)

Patrick Henry College exists to glorify God by challenging the status quo in higher education, lifting high both faith and reason within a rigorous academic environment; thereby preserving for posterity the ideals behind the "noble experiment in ordered liberty" that is the foundation of America.
