Landon Allmond is the new men's Resident Director of Patrick Henry College. He graduated from PHC with a B.A. in American Politics and Policy (APP) in May 2025.
As a student, Allmond took almost every opportunity he could to serve the student body. He was a Student Senator, a member of the Homecoming committee, and a Resident Assistant (RA). Now he is ready to continue pouring into the community as a graduate and RD.
“All the classes [freshmen, sophomore, junior, and senior] interacting and building each other up and forming close friendships is so key to what makes PHC special. It's something that we as a community have done really well these past few years,” Allmond said. “I’d like to continue that.”
Because of how active Allmond was on campus as a student, he now has a good idea of how to foster community between classes on campus.
Dashing through the field to capture the flag, body slamming during the alumni vs. student flag football game, and cheering together for the men's and women’s soccer teams were all a part of Homecoming. Serving on the Homecoming committee, Landon saw how that week of competition was crucial to bringing all the classes together in camaraderie.
“Friendly competition in sports has a way of bringing people together from all different walks of life," he said, "Supporting intramurals, homecoming, and all the other campus-wide events that happen is the best way to grow the community, build new friendships, and new relationships.”
As an RA, Allmond poured spiritually into the men in his wing, building them up. He also grew and learned how to better serve those around him through one-on-ones with Nathan Reiley, the previous male RD.
“He's very good at listening. He’ll ask a few questions, and then once you start talking, he'll just listen, and he's not going to try to interrupt. He offers good advice, but it's not the only thing he's there for. He's also there to listen,” Allmond said. “That’s something that I definitely want to implement as RD.”
