A recent PHC graduate received an award from a top-level government agency for his exceptional performance as an intern. The Department of Justice (DOJ) Inspector General (IG) Michael Horowitz presented Nikolas "Nik" Frey (GOV-APP, '25) with the Inspector General Pathways Intern Honorary Award.
In presenting the award, IG Horowitz noted that Mr. Frey "demonstrated exceptional initiative, versatility, dedication... [and] reflects a strong commitment to operational excellence and innovation."
Nik joined the DOJ Office of the Inspector General (OIG) in January 2024, during his junior year at Patrick Henry College. Upon graduating this May, Nik was selected as a Program Analyst within the Oversight and Review Division within the OIG. Nik assists teams with investigations and reviews of senior Justice Department officials and reviews of critical programs within the Department.
Nik says, "God has richly blessed me and my pursuits. I was honored to receive this award from IG Horowitz. I am glad to be in a position to make an immediate impact post-graduation. Patrick Henry College equipped me to enter federal service with a strong moral guide and sense of justice."
PHC's location of 50 miles from Washington, D.C., and PHC's reputation for the highest quality interns opens doors for our students to participate in some of the nation's most desired undergraduate internships.
Patrick Henry College exists to glorify God by challenging the status quo in higher education, lifting high both faith and reason within a rigorous academic environment; thereby preserving for posterity the ideals behind the "noble experiment in ordered liberty" that is the foundation of America.
