PHC's "Amber" mock trial team earned 2nd place at the Great American Mock Trial Invitational (GAMTI), hosted by UVA in Washington, D.C. GAMTI is a high-level, invitation-only tournament, made up of top teams that competed at Nationals within the last two years.

PHC finished with a record of 9-3, barely edged out for first place by Rutgers (record of 9-2-1). In addition, Josh Revoir earned an Outstanding Witness award, and James Staub earned an Outstanding Attorney award! Competition included Harvard, U Chicago, Georgia, Emory, UVA, Hillsdale, Duke, Princeton, Rhodes, and Ohio State.20251207_144628

Kudos to alumna Coach Elizabeth Ertle, team captains Evan Lopez and James Staub, team members Zoe Aviles, Josh Revoir, Allie Satterfield, Ryan Olson, and Wyatt Trull, and guest timekeeper Kayla Jennings.

Evan Lopez said, "We were so blessed this weekend. Results in mock trial can be very fickle, but the fact that we won every single round showed something about the team's long hours of practice leading up to and during the tournament. Every member of our team showed a relentless drive and very clearly gave this competition their full effort. At the same time, GAMTI revealed many areas of growth for the rest of the season. We cannot afford to become complacent—each team we faced (and the ones we didn't) will all keep honing their content and practicing hard, and we will continue to do the same. We are extremely excited for what the rest of the season has to offer!"PHC's forensics program: #1 in the nation

Competitor Josh Revoir expressed his gratitude: "It is a blessing to serve with the best teammates to the glory of Jesus Christ. What happened that weekend felt great, but knowing who it was for makes all the difference. "
