Abi Churchill World1-1

This past year has been a highlight reel for a number of underclassmen at Patrick Henry College. Recently, a team made up entirely of sophomores and freshmen made it to Mock Trial Nationals and placed 7th in their division, marking the first time PHC has ever sent two teams to the national tournament. Then, freshman Calvin Huh and sophomore Nicholas Storz won the Lafayette Debates National Championship. And most recently, WORLD Magazine has published the work of sophomore Abi Churchill.

For students looking to go into journalism, getting published is a large first step. Normally, freshmen spend their first two semesters learning the basic mechanics of writing and journalism. In their sophomore year, they join the student newspaper, The Herald. But it isn’t really until junior or senior year where students are normally expected to find internships and publishing opportunities outside of Patrick Henry College.

Abi, who has yet to join The Herald, seems to have jumped a few steps ahead.

God has blessed Patrick Henry College with an extremely talented and capable student body. Abi’s work with WORLD Magazine reaffirms what we already know to be true—God brings incredibly special people to PHC, and we are so excited we have an opportunity to invest in them. Well done, Abi!
