Thank you for your interest in being mentored by a Patrick Henry College student or graduate. The PHC mentor program matches your student up with a mentor from Patrick Henry according to your preferences. We have many talented writers, and expect that you will find their guidance helpful. Here are answers to your questions:
- Do PHC Mentors give writing assignments, or help with writing projects we assign?
Our mentors will either help you with "school" assignments, or give you writing assignments. Let your mentor know what you want.
- How much time does this involve?
You and your mentor can decide this. You can move more slowly or more quickly, according to your needs.
- How will we communicate with our mentor?
Our mentors can help via email, conventional mail, or phone. They should not be expected to pay phone expenses, however. Email is most common, supplemented from time to time with a phone conversation.
- What does this cost?
Our mentors charge (a very reasonable) ten dollars an hour. Please let us know if this is a genuine financial hardship for any of you.
- How do I sign up?
Download the application.
To sign up for the 2008-2009 school year, please complete the application form and return it with the $20 fee. PHC is a small college and space is limited. We will supply mentors on a first come, first served basis.
- What if I have more questions?
Please direct them to Rebekah (MentorshipCoordinator@phc.edu, 540-338-8887). She's happy to help!
