Classical Liberal Arts

Program Structure

Building on the foundation of PHC’s exceptional 63-credit classical core, CLA students will take:

• • 15 credits of major required courses comprising classical studies.

  • 12 credits of major electives in the field of Classical Liberal Arts, allowing students to tailor their degrees to fit their vocational aspirations.

  • 3 credits of directed research and writing.

  • 6 credits of apprenticeship electives that can be used to complete additional internships, participate in PHC’s nation-leading forensics teams, pursue research projects, including a senior thesis, and more.

  • 24 credits of open electives, which can be used to fulfill language requirements (students will have the opportunity to learn a classical language with proficiency).
