Professional Positions
Web Developer
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Web Developer will be responsible for the design, development, implementation, testing, and maintenance of web-based enterprise applications. Additional responsibilities will include substantive database work (Microsoft SQL Server) to support the applications.
The ideal candidate will have one - two years experience:
- developing intranet/internet applications
- with ASP development
- working with SQL server (2000 /2005) with knowledge of SQL relational database concepts
- Familiarity with Visual Studio 2003 or later
Higher education experience and .Net skills a plus.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in related field plus one - two years of experience.
Lead Developer / Analyst
Reporting to the Director of Information Technology, the Lead Developer/Analyst will be responsible to reviewing, analyzing, modifying, and developing solutions to meet the business needs of the college.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of and experience with Microsoft SQL Server including creating databases, stored procedures and triggers. Crystal Reports development skills are necessary. Experience in Web Application Development with ASP, .NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, XML and the integration with back end SQL Server databases is required.
Experience with migrating data and integrating data systems utilizing DTS packages along with SQL Server 2005 Reporting services is preferred. Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server 2003 is a plus. Lotus Notes (administration or development) and PHP experience is a plus.
Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree in a related area plus 4-6 years experience. Higher Education experience is a plus.
Residence Directors (one male, one female)
Residence Directors will play a central role in the overall administration and operation of residence life and assist students in their personal growth and development. Responsibilities include: hiring, training, and supervising residence assistants, making room assignments, opening and closing the residence halls, and developing residence hall programs and activities. Also involves evening and weekend duty rotations.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of Patrick Henry College and former residence hall assistant who enthusiastically embraces the mission and vision of the College. Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, strong communication, organizational and administrative skills. Must live on campus. Room and Board constitutes a major part of the compensation for this position.
Admissions Counselor – Campus Visit Coordinator
The Admissions Counselor will play a central role in helping the college achieve its recruitment goals. Responsibilities include: coordinating campus visits, directing the Student Ambassador program and successfully managing a recruitment territory.
The ideal candidate will be a graduate of Patrick Henry College who enthusiastically embraces the mission and vision of the College and who can clearly and persuasively articulate these to prospective students, parents, and others. Must have strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor’s degree, familiarity with and desire to work with the home schooling community. Must be willing to travel up to 25% of the time, mostly in the fall and spring.
Executive Assistant to the President
The Executive Assistant to the President provides administrative support to the President and is responsible for the President’s schedule, communications from the Office of the President, coordinating special events for the President and the Board of Trustees, and maintaining office records. Specific responsibilities include: scheduling on campus and off campus meetings for the President and making travel arrangements as necessary; receiving all mail, e-mail, phone calls, and visitors; coordinating rentals, setup and catering for special events related to the Office of the President or the Board of Trustees; drafting letters and e-mails and returning phone calls on the President’s behalf; coordinating Executive Cabinet meeting, preparing a draft agenda and recording minutes; coordinating the biannual meetings for the Board of Trustees, including producing Board books and making travel arrangements.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree, a proven ability to multi-task, excellent clerical and computer skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and a strong customer service orientation. Must be trustworthy with confidential information.

Patrick Henry College seeks qualified candidates for employment with its on-campus management service partners.
Lead Cook
The Lead Cook is responsible for planning and organizing the daily meals as directed by the Chef. Duties include preparing quality meals with the freshest products available and directing other kitchen staff. Also, responsible for the daily cleaning schedule, dating and rotating all products, and cleaning and sanitation of kitchen equipment.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in a high volume kitchen, knowledge of scratch cooking, excellent verbal communication skills, and a “can do” customer service attitude. Must be dependable, punctual, and flexible.
Dishwasher
The Dishwasher maintains the cleanliness of the dish machine, dish return conveyor, dish room and kitchen. Duties include cleaning floor mats, stacking all dishware safely and carefully, restocking all items, and notifying manager of any breakage or cleaning supply and chemical needs.
Must be courteous, helpful to customers and team player.
