Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia, invites applications for the position of Director of Finance and Administration. This is a full-time, on-site position.
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
Acquire or have a CPA (preferred but not immediately required)
Five (5) years of progressive leadership/administrative responsibility
Two (2) years of supervisory experience
Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
Knowledge of budget preparation, monitoring, and implementation
Ability to analyze problems, identify effective solutions, and take appropriate action using sound judgment and independent decision-making.
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies, and procedures related to college operations and financial administration
Experience in Human Resource Management
Knowledge of and experience with public or higher education financial systems
Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs, and Great Plains Dynamics
Reports to the President and serves as the College’s principal financial officer and Board-appointed Treasurer, overseeing all aspects of the College’s financial and fiscal management
Partners with the Executive VP on long-term strategy and annual financial planning
Focuses on improving and supporting the student experience through effective financial leadership
Provides strategic financial insight and leadership directing all financial and administrative operations, including:
Accounting and finance
Strategic planning for capital improvements and long-range financial health
Budgeting
Human resources, payroll, and risk management
Maintains compliance with audit standards, internal controls, and state/federal regulations
Advises on policy updates and manages external vendor relationships to support financial objectives
Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends
