Patrick Henry College, a Christian liberal arts institution in Purcellville, VA., is recruiting an adjunct professor to teach beginning and intermediate Chinese (I is slated for fall 2026, II for spring 2027, III for fall 2027, and IV for spring 2028); the course could be offered three times a week (MWF) or twice a week (TuTh), days or evenings. This position begins in August 2026.
Qualifications: M.A. or Ph.D. or equivalent experience. Significant teaching experience teaching Chinese as a second language preferred; candidates should be committed to excellence in language instruction. Candidates should be evangelical Christians, in full agreement with the College’s Statement of Faith and Biblical Foundations Statement, and supportive of the College’s Mission, Vision, and Educational Philosophy.
Candidates must work well in an academically rigorous environment with highly motivated students. Candidates should have a strong commitment to teaching undergraduates in a classical liberal arts institution.
