The Sentinels Kickoff the 2026 Season
This past Saturday, our Sentinels soccer teams kicked off the 2026 season. The women had their first home game against the Potomac State College Catamounts, while the men’s team traveled to Lancaster Bible College to take on the Chargers’ JV squad.
In the women’s 3-1 loss to the Catamounts, Junior Annika Wirkkala scored her first goal of the season, adding to her career goal total and continuing to solidify her position as the highest scorer in Sentinel Women’s Soccer history.
On the men's side, the Sentinels battled hard in a 2-1 loss to Lancaster Bible. Sophomore Josh Moore provided a bright spot for the squad, netting his first career collegiate goal and giving the team momentum as they look ahead to the rest of the season.
The Sentinel women return to action on Wednesday, September 2, when they travel to Front Royal, Virginia, for a 5:00 p.m. matchup against the Christendom Crusaders. The men's team will also face the Crusaders on Wednesday, September 9, with kickoff scheduled for 5:00 p.m. in Front Royal.
With this past weekend’s matches now in the books, both Sentinel squads look to build on early positives and continue their growth as the 2026 campaign gets underway.
