Patrick Henry Outshined by Knights

PHC's Rob Canfield in a defensive slide

The Sentinels traveled to Pennsylvania again, this time to play against the Central Penn Knights. The size and athleticism of the knights alongside too many turnovers, caused PHC to fall 72-102.

It was a battle to start off the game. Buckets were being traded back and forth and the Knights looked surprised as the smaller Sentinels fought evenly with them. Offensively, many baskets came from drive and dishes from point guard John Larter to big man Andrew Penrod at the block. The two looked like Stockton and Malone out there and the score was tied 20-20 in the first 10 minutes. But, as trends have shown for the young Sentinels, they lost momentum and Central Penn proceeded to go on a run that they couldn’t fully recover from. A killer slam dunk and chase-down block from Knights' big man, Jordan Strickland, got the crowd involved and the Sentinels became worn out. Rob Canfield led the way scoring for PHC with 21 points and Penrod was close up there with 19.

In their next game on February 3rd, PHC plays Central Penn again, but this time at home, so let’s see if they can flip a switch and compete against this athletic team.
