The PHC women won the annual “white out” game versus rival Appalachian Bible 67-62, led by 35 points from freshman Liana DeVore. The Sentinels fell behind 45-42 late in the third quarter and then went on an 18-4 run, sparked by a big three-point shot from sophomore Alexa Ross, and two breakaway baskets by DeVore. to take an 11-point lead of 60-49, with six minutes left in the game.  Unfortunately, DeVore then picked up her fifth foul and Sentinels turned to Junior guard, Hannah Kim, to finish the game.  The Warriors fought back but could get no closer than five, as Kim and sophomore Amelia Ruiz made key free throws in the last two minutes.  The Sentinels were able to secure the victory in spite of several players suffering from the effects of the flu.

After the game, Coach Rick Weitz said “This was a great team win today.  When the team fell behind in the third quarter, we were able to increase our defensive intensity, which fueled the run that basically determined the outcome of the game. It’s a fantastic way to start the second half of our season.”
