PHC took on the Central Penn Knights at home this time on a beautiful Saturday evening. It was a battle, but unfortunately, the Sentinels didn’t win, and the Knights got the best of them again. However, this game was much different than the last time they saw each other as the score ended in a much closer 72-82.
Similar to their last matchup, the score was close in the first 10 minutes, 18-20. PHC was again hanging with a bigger and more athletic team. But also, just like last time, the momentum changed, and the Knights went on a run, ending the half 43-27.
The second half was much better for the Sentinels because of high percentage shooting and solid defense, but the gap was still a hefty 57-75. That’s when they chose to light it up from deep, led by Nate Semlick, who had a game-high 28 points. They managed to cut the score to 76-69 with about two minutes left to go. But the clock quickly hit 0:00, and the final score was 82-72.
Despite the loss, it was still an impressive game for Patrick Henry who demonstrated immense improvement from the last game. They managed to hold Central Penn, a team that has scored above 98 in their last 3 matchups, to 82 points. Coach Roynestad was pleased with what he saw on the defensive end, and the fact that PHC battled hard against an athletic team is an encouraging sight, especially with the NIT tournament right around the corner.
