A Cappella Ensemble

The A Cappella Ensemble is an intermediate vocal ensemble at Patrick Henry College that functions as the extracurricular counterpart to the PHC Chorale. The group's main purpose is to make beautiful music with fellow believers and to glorify the Lord. Students come together to sing both a cappella choral music and hymns, putting on multiple performances during the academic semester.

Ensemble practices are a blend of performance practice and pedagogy. Members have the chance to practice sight-reading and harmonization with a large group and with smaller groups. The ensemble as a whole also learns and polishes pieces for concerts.

Anyone who loves to sing and has a basic understanding of music is welcome! The ensemble does not hold formal auditions but will schedule assessments with prospective members to learn more about them, their musical background, and their voice.
