Tracking technologies are used to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our service. Tracking technologies may include cookies or browser cookies. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our service may use cookies.

Purpose: These cookies are essential to provide you with services available through the website and to enable you to use some of its features. They help to authenticate users and prevent fraudulent use of user accounts.

 

2. Information you Provide

While visiting our websites, PHC may ask for personally identifiable information in order for you to access offers, receive resources by mail, or to receive updates and promotions by mail or email. When you complete an inquiry form, request a visit, or use our site to rent campus space, you will be asked for information that will help us deliver the services in the best manner.

 

3. Payment and Card Information

Patrick Henry College does not store credit card information. Credit Card payments are handled by third-party payment processors such as Authorize.Net or Blackbaud.

We do not store any sensitive payment information, but your name and billing address are stored to process your order. We also store your shipping address to fulfill your order. Note that third-party payment processors may retain this information in accordance with their own privacy policies and terms.

 

4. Information We Receive from Your Use of Our Services

When you visit our website, view or search content, or create or log into your account, we collect data about the devices and computers you use to access the services, including IP addresses, browser type, language, operating system, or mobile device information (including device and application identifiers), the referring web page, pages visited, location (depending on the permissions you have granted us). This information allows us to customize the website for optimum user experience.

 

5. How Information is Shared

We do not share your personal information except in the following limited circumstances:

For direct mail processing: We transfer information to our corporate affiliates, service providers, and other partners who process mailing services for us, based on our instructions, and in compliance with this policy and any other appropriate confidentiality and security measures.

For Legal and Security Reasons: We may preserve or disclose information about you to comply with a law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request; to assert legal rights or defend against legal claims; or to prevent, detect, or investigate illegal activity, fraud, abuse, violations of our terms, or threats to the security of the services.

For Reporting and Analysis: We may share non-personal information that is aggregated, anonymous or de-identified so that it cannot reasonably be used to identify an individual. We may disclose such benchmarking information with members of the Patrick Henry College Board of Trustees or other stakeholders.

 

6. Data Retention

We keep your account information, like your name, email address, and password, for as long as your account is in existence because we need it to operate your account. We keep other information unless you request its removal because we use this data for benchmarking purposes and to provide you with information and updates on our services. You may request removal of your account information at any time.

 

7. Analytics and Advertising Services Provided by Others

We work with partners who provide us with analytics and advertising services, including search engine optimization (SEO) tools, social media platform analytics, and video hosting platform analytics. This data helps us understand how users interact with the content that we provide online such as digital ads and measuring the performance of those ads. These companies may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your interactions with the services and other websites and applications.

 

8. Links to Other Websites or Applications

Our web pages may provide links to third-party websites. We are not responsible for the content or information collection practices of those sites, including their privacy policies. 9. Our Policy on Children

We appreciate the importance of taking additional measures to protect the privacy of children. Our services at Patrick Henry College are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect and store data on children under the age of 13; however, a parent may certainly request information on behalf of their minor children for College's offerings, such as homeschool resources, webcast/livestreams, PHC's Youth Music Academy, and information about upcoming Teen Leadership Camp opportunities. The age eligibility for Teen Leadership Camps and Youth Music Academy is 14 - 18 years of age.

If you are a parent or guardian of a child under the age of 13 and are aware that your child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us if you would like for us to delete the information from our servers except to the extent federal or state law requires operators to maintain the information.

 

10. Changes to This Policy

If we make changes to this policy that we believe materially impacts the privacy of your personal data, we will update this page, noting the effective date of any changes.

 

11. GDPR: Our Use of Information from Europeans

If you reside in a member state of the European Union (EU) you may be subject to the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which may provide you with the following rights to:

  • Request access to, rectification of, and with some exceptions, erasure of your personal information
  • Request restriction of processing concerning your information or object to processing
  • Request a copy of your personal information
  • Withdraw your consent if the processing of your personal information was based on your consent

To protect the personal information PHC holds, we may also request further information to verify your identity when exercising these rights. Upon a request to erase information, we will maintain a core set of personal information to ensure we do not contact you inadvertently in the future, as well as any information necessary for archival or other legal purposes. We may also retain financial information for legal purposes, including United States Internal Revenue Service compliance. Additionally, in the event of an actual or threatened legal claim, the we may retain your information for purposes of establishing, defending against, or exercising your rights with respect to such claim.

Please note, however, that by providing information directly to Patrick Henry College, you consent to the transfer of your personal information outside of the EU to the United States. The current laws and regulations of the United States may not provide the same level of protection as the data and privacy laws and regulations of the EEA.
