This endowed scholarship fund was established to memorialize and celebrate the life of Thomas Brumley Lipscomb by his daughters, Beverly and Carlton.
"Our minds and hearts are rich with memories of our father and the daily influence he had in building character into our lives. He grew up on a farm during the depression, developed a strong work ethic, and thought hard work was the expected, not the exception. His exploring mind took advantage of all opportunities to learn new skills and new technology. In 1942, he enlisted in the Naval Construction Corps (Seabees). After his discharge in 1945, he began his career as a manufacturing representative for heating and air conditioning equipment and soon became a partner in the business. His happy marriage of 56 years gave us a good example. His many interests included woodworking, fishing, gardening, and cooking. A friend to many, he willingly gave credit to others for the successes in his life. He was a Christian gentleman who enjoyed the respect and trust of family and many friends.
In recognition of Thomas Brumley Lipscomb's life, this scholarship is intended to provide assistance for promising young men and women to carry on the work of advancing the kingdom of Christ. We hope that future leaders will proceed into the service of our Lord and to others, in part because he lived."
