Clear thinking in light of timeless truth

The first Christians changed the world by proclaiming that humans are made in the image of God. The Imago Dei is at the center of what Christians have taught about politics and morality. It’s been central to Christian teaching about marriage, property, caring for the needy, and even science.

If Christians want to find a path forward through many of the controversial issues facing the church and society today, we’ll find that path by looking again at what it means that God made us—all of us—in His own image.

Beginning with the opening chapters of Genesis, this course explores the profound truth that God made us in His own image, and it equips students to use that understanding to bless their neighbors and seek the good of society.

The Imago Dei is an eight-lecture course that brings together Patrick Henry College professors and a group of distinguished speakers to shed light on some of the most pressing issues facing the church today. Over the course of eight lectures, you’ll learn:

·  Why God often calls the church to lean into points of tension rather than skirt around them

·  How to respond to recent ideas about gender and marriage in light of timeless truth

·  How to think Biblically about equality and diversity in response to the present-day obsession with “race”

·  Why the Imago Dei provides a much-needed framework for thinking about politics, private property, and poverty

What students say

Hearing the speakers explain concepts and terms I’ve talked about without actually understanding reminded me why I love studying. It was also very encouraging and re-centering during a pretty rough patch. It’s challenged me to reconsider how much I actually believe that the gospel is true and God is who He says He is.

I enjoyed all of the talks. They were thought-provoking and encouraging.
– Zane

God used the lectures also to open my heart to a greater appreciation for the seriousness of sin and the devastating real consequences that result from “suppressing the truth.” Am I aligning my path to the truth of God’s Word? Was I truly submitting to God as the Maker of the created order?
