The Lady Sentinels soccer team faced off against Sweet Briar college this past Saturday for a home match that ended in a 0-0 draw.
The Lady Sentinels continued to execute on their strategy and formation, falling back well defensively but still able to keep an attack, with four shots on goal during the game. Keeper Sophomore Olivia Entzminger had five on goal saves while also playing more aggressively to intercept and deter direct through balls played by the Vixen’s attack.
For the past three years, the Lady Sentinels have consistently lost 1-0 to the Vixens. This year’s performance against the Sweet Briar Vixens is an improvement on the Lady Sentinel’s record with the Vixens, setting a new standard for the future of the program.
Head Coach Ethan Patrick stated that while this game is an improvement from the program’s past, he is looking forward to improvement during this season on the Lady Sentinel’s scoring opportunities.
The Lady Sentinels return to action hoping to capitalize on their successes and improve their record on Saturday, September 19th, at 2 p.m. when they take on Carroll Community College for a home match.
