Patrick Henry College
Listen to Dr. Ben Carson talk about Patrick Henry College
on Bill Bennett's Morning in America here
Dr. Benjamin Carson, Gifted Hands author and director of pediatric neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, Md., delivered a powerful speech at the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington, D.C. last week, bringing an audience of dignitaries, including President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle, to their feet. His speech called for an end to "political correctness," complaining that it stifles honest conversations on important issues. The speech was filled with the parables of Jesus, plenty of dry wit and biblical principles, as Dr. Carson called for a return to fairness and common decency while prescribing a "logical" and "common-sense" approach to our nation's problems.
Last February, Patrick Henry College was honored to welcome Dr. Carson to campus as part of the Newsmakers Interview Series with Marvin Olasky. In that exclusive interview, Dr. Carson echoed many of the same themes of freedom of speech, education, taxation, his concerns over the national debt and the undergirding role of his Christian faith in his life. Given the reaction to his speech at the National Prayer Breakfast, we thought it was both timely and worthwhile to revisit his Newsmakers Interview for our friends and supporters.
