Patrick Henry College sophomore Alan Carrillo won second place in the "Real Hope for the Future" speech contest at PHC with a narrative plea to consider his life's passion -- stopping the evil of modern-day slavery:

"In a culture that glorifies pimps through film, music, and style, and in a legal system that criminalizes instead of protects young girls under child prostitution laws, the victims of human trafficking need a voice."
