M.J. is a graduate from the Government major in the American Politics and Policy track. This is M.J.'s fourth summer working with Teen Camps and her sixth summer working full time in a camp setting. M.J. loves working with students of all ages and has a passion for sharing life and joy with the students she interacts with.
M.J. is the youngest of nine children and misses the days of romping around her hometown of Loganville, Georgia with her siblings. M.J.'s parents and siblings encouraged a love of service and ministry in her life and she became very involved with her home church at a young age. In high school she worked in the nursery, mentored younger youth group members, participated in her church choir and went on several missions trips to Honduras.
At PHC she was involved in debate, music groups, the drama program, and she served as an RA. She has also held teaching and tutoring positions with a local homeschool co-op. In November M.J. married Stephen Pierce, alumni and Senior Admissions Counselor of PHC.
M.J. is a spunky person who enjoys using her quirks to encourage people and make them laugh. She is beloved by many for her never ending supply of hugs and her dinosaur walk. M.J. is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve as Camp Director for the second year in a row. M.J. has been praying for the Lord's hand to be at work this summer and she can't wait to get to know all of the amazing campers who cross her path!
Emily currently works as the Resident Director and graduated as a Literature major. This is Emily's third summer working with Teen Camps. She is back on the leadership team after taking last summer off. She is thrilled to return and once more have the amazing opportunity to work with incredible counselors and campers.
While a student, Emily participated in soccer for one year, and sang with The Liberty Belles for three years. She enjoys reading, spending time with people, writing, going on adventures, and taking long drives through the back roads of Northern Virginia.
