Although the cost of attending Patrick Henry College is well below national average for private colleges, at $18,000 per year, it is still beyond what many families can afford. Scholarships and need-based grants are an essential component of a college dedicated to training those who will lead our nation and shape our culture.
With nearly 250 students arriving on campus in September, our scholarship funding need has grown to $1.5 million for this coming academic year. Our average scholarship award is just over $5000 per student.
Our students show great faithfulness and courage by studying at a college that has been denied accreditation solely because of our stand for God as our Creator. Such courage should be supported tangibly if at all possible.
Will you consider doing two things? First, donate to the Scholarship Fund; and second, write a short note of encouragement to a student. Urge them to remain faithful. Share a scripture verse. Share an encouraging story from your life. Below is a scenario by which Patrick Henry College supporters could meet the entire scholarship need for our students.
25 families sponsor a full year scholarship
50 families sponsor a semester scholarship award
250 families $1000
400 families $500
2000 families $100
3000 families $50
18,000 families $25
This is clearly possible if every family that is prompted to help actually follows through with a gift and a note of encouragement. Your children or grandchildren may come to Patrick Henry College some day. But even if they don't, your country will benefit from the new political and cultural leaders that are being trained.
