PHC Admissions Counselor Tiffany Thompson sifts through influx of student applications

As of mid-February, the PHC Department of Admissions reports that more students have applied for fall admission than at any other time in the College’s history. The influx, which caught some in the enrollment office by surprise, has more than offset a temporary lull in submissions.

“We are excited about the recent influx of applications for this fall,” said Gary W. Mason, PHC’s Dean of Enrollment. “Once again, God is showing His faithfulness to us. It has presented a challenge as we try to process them in a timely manner, but it is a nice ‘problem’ to have!”

The College had witnessed a steady upward trend for the last several weeks, but the unexpected arrival of 34 new applications at the end of January is, according to Mason, “by far the most we have ever received in a one week period.” He said it was due, in part, to a February 1 deadline for priority consideration for financial aid.

“We want people to know we will still continue to accept applications throughout the spring, and we will still continue to award financial aid, as long as funds are available,” he added. “Prospective students who have not yet applied for this fall should do so as soon as possible.”
