Professor Rist teaches Introduction to Acting at PHC. She has over 25 years' experience directing a variety of theatrical productions, ranging from The Importance of Being Earnest and other Shakespeare plays, to a Reader's Theater production of The Singer by Calvin Miller, to a live nativity in Cairo, Egypt.
In addition to her directorial experience, Professor Rist has conducted workshops in theatre and public performance classes to improve worship leadership, communication skills, and public presentations. As an actress, she has performed oral interpretations at various events, and for six years she presented a two-hour, one-woman show, The Belle of Amherst, for civic and educational groups on the East Coast. A homeschooling mother of three, Professor Rist lives with her husband and children in Loudoun County, Virginia.
