Early/Dual Enrollment: Non-degree admission allows exceptional high school students to begin earning credit toward a Bachelor's degree, beginning at age 16. Students who later apply and are admitted to the degree seeking program may also count completed coursework toward their minimum highschool requirements.
Preparation for College: Non-degree students can earn up to 19 credits of courses in the core curriculum, and unlimited 100-level courses before completing the degree-seeking application. This allows many students to "get their feet wet" in the rigorous academics at Patrick Henry College without the pressure of full time enrollment. Success in the non-degree program is looked on favorably by the Degree Seeking Admissions Review Committee.
Academic Exellence: In order to earn college credit, non-degree-seeking students must complete all the same coursework that a traditional on degree-seeking student would. Our core courses are designed at a college sophomore level or above, in rigor, and students will be challenged to excel beyond traditional highschool expectations.
Students who do not yet feel prepared for collegiate-level work should check out our PHC Prep Academy.
Biblical Worldview: One of the distinctive features of Patrick Henry College is how, in every discipline, students are challenged to grow in their walk with Christ, and in their understanding of how a strong biblical worldview informs Christian vocation.
Affordability: Tuition for non-degree students is slightly less than traditional degree-seeking tuition. In addition, students do not pay room and board, and dual enrollment students can often save on classes that these courses might replace. Members of HSLDA may also be eligible for a tuition discount. Whether you are an advanced highschool Junior or Senior or an adult learner seeking to expand their understanding, the non-degree application is designed to make it easy to get started with PHC distance learning right away without the full review process.
