Flexibility: C@H allows students the option to pursue an education from any location, on virtually any schedule. Most courses carry out class discussions on discussion forums which render specific "class times" unecessary. Those with live chats typically only meet once per week. See course descriptions for specific requirements.
Interactivity: Active class discussion is a required part of almost all courses, carried out primarily in an interactive forum environment. A number of courses also feature live chat sessions where students can ask questions of their professors in real time. Students also often interact outside of class, and some have found that their closest friendships at PHC began in Distance Learning.
Academic Parity: All courses are desgined by the same professors who design the on-campus programs, and are based on the same syllabi to provide students with a consistent education from program to program. Courses are taught by professional faculty, many of whom also teach courses on-campus.
Full Academic Privileges: C@H students are considered full-fledged members of the PHC community and carry the same rights and privileges of their on-campus counterparts. Once admitted to C@H a student may choose to transition to campus during any semester they wish. C@H students are also assigned a personal faculty advisor and are eligible to participate in peer mentoring.
Affordability: C@H students are eligible for the same financial aid as on-campus studernts, but do not share the same room and board and travel expenses. This can amount to significant savings toward their education.
C@H students complete the same application as traditional on-campus students, but select the Distance Learning option on their application form.
