Students who are interested in getting a degree from Patrick Henry College but who want to start by taking distance learning classes will choose the Campus @ Home program. The Campus @ Home program allows students to take as much of the PHC core curriculum through distance learning as they choose and then to come to campus to complete the degree.
There are a number of advantages to starting a degree program at a distance. Some students want to maintain work or family commitments during the first two years of PHC. Others find that saving on transportation, room, and board makes college more affordable. Whatever your reason, C@H may be the right fit for you.
C@H students are considered full-fledged members of the PHC community. Some students have found that their closest friendships at PHC began in Distance Learning. All C@H students have a faculty advisor and are eligible to participate in peer mentoring. They may transition to attending on campus before the start of any semester.
Degree-seeking students complete the full application, whether they choose to be on campus for the entire four years or for only part of that time as Campus @ Home students.
Student testimonial:
“I was in the Campus @ Home program for 2.5 years before coming on campus, and greatly enjoyed the online format. The DL professors are very good at guiding the discussion and teaching the material and are of as high-caliber as those on campus. Some of my best friends on campus now are friends I made in DL, and some of the most foundational things I learned were in DL. I prize the discussions we had and the things we learned together.” – Colin, Nebraska
