Moot Court:
Int'l Law vs. the American Constitution

In the international sphere, increasing pressure has been placed on the U.S. to accept and enforce policies and principles dictated by the communities of the world. To what extent should American domestic law acknowledge international treaties and ruling bodies like the United Nations? Moot Court: International Law versus the American Constitution provides an opportunity for students to explore these issues under the leadership of Dr. Michael Farris, PHC Chancellor and coach of PHC’s national-championship moot court team. A traditional law school activity, now growing in the undergraduate arena, moot court prepares students for the rigors of arguing a case before the United States Supreme Court. This camp will introduce campers to appellate advocacy and sharpen their reasoning and public speaking skill by preparing arguments for a camp tournament focused on a simulated case. Participation in a previous PHC Constitutional Law Camp is helpful but not necessary to fully participate in and enjoy the Moot Court Camp.
