Christmas presents are unwrapped, the decorations are packed away for another 11 months, and the holiday dinner leftovers are long gone. That can only mean one thing: the spring semester is fast approaching. And while many students may gasp in dread at the return of classes, homework, and papers, here are a few reasons to be excited about returning to campus for another semester full of friends and new adventures.

1. Showing Off your New Christmas Threads
Whether it’s an itchy sweater your grandma knit for you or a cool outfit you got from H&M with the gift card your cool aunt gave you, your new duds are just begging to be shown off on the first day of classes. We know you can’t wait to strut your stuff for your friends, and don’t worrythey’ll love you no matter how ugly that sweater is.

2. Reuniting with Your Friends
After communicating via group text and Snapchat during Christmas break, you will be floored to think you lasted a month without seeing them in person. Get ready to break out the snacks and blankets as you tell each other about the best things that happened  over break.

3. Taking New Classes
You put all you had into last semester, and it paid off. Now you can forget about last semester’s tests and papers and dive into a new set of beneficial classes! New professors, new books, and new challenges mean it’s going to be a great spring semester.

4. Meeting Spring Semester’s New Students.
New students transfer in every spring semester. This is your chance to make a friend and show God’s love! It can be scary for students to start at a school in the middle of the year, so you can help out by answering their questions and showing them around. And who knowsthey might be the coolest people you’ve ever met.

5. Enjoying a snow day.
Snow is never a guarantee, but more often than not the weather gives the students a snow day or two during the spring semester. When those blessed days arrive, you can forget about classes for a day and go sledding, have snowball fights, and sip hot chocolate in their pajamas. It's a great way to make memories.

6. Keeping your New Year’s resolutions.
You had a great fall semester, but you know there’s always room for improvement. You’ve probably told yourself that next year, you’ll eat right, sleep more, and quit procrastinating. Spring semester is your chance to make that happen!
