LEADERSHIP AWARDS
  Abraham Lincoln Award (4) Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding commitment to principled leadership as evidenced by application materials. 4 years $2,000 Demonstrated leadership and cumulative 3.0 GPA
  William A. Wilberforce Award (4) Awarded to students who have demonstrated the ability to remain true to their convictions and to inspire others to live courageously as evidenced by application materials. 4 years $2,000 Demonstrated leadership and cumulative 3.0 GPA
  Epaphras Church Leadership Award (8) Awarded to students who have shown committed involvement in the service and leadership of their local church as evidenced by application materials. 4 years $1,500 Demonstrated leadership and cumulative 3.0 GPA
  Public Service Scholarship (6) Awarded to students who demonstrate outstanding commitment to community service as evidenced by application materials. 4 years $1,500 Demonstrated leadership and cumulative 3.0 GPA
SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS
  Patrick Henry Scholarship (No maximum, awarded to all students)

Academic merit scholarship awarded on the basis of a combination of the quality of the application materials and standardized test scores. The threshold for consideration for this award is an SAT score of 1340 or ACT score of 30. 4 years 10 to 65% of tuition If a student’s cumulative GPA drops below that required for Renewability (as shown in the award letter), the award will be reduced on a graduated schedule.
  Noah Webster CLA Award (1) Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Classical Liberal Arts who has an aptitude and desire to influence the youth of our society for Christ by teaching in a home school, classical Christian school, or in other venues, or writing curricula. Preference will be given to those who have been using their teaching gifts in church, home schooling, or tutoring. 4 years $1,500 Continuing in Classical Liberal Arts major and cumulative GPA of 3.25
  Publius Government Award (2) Awarded to meritorious students intending to major in Government. Preference will be given to those who have a demonstrated commitment to the field. Examples of commitment include, but are not limited to: volunteering on campaigns, extensive writing and research on government or other related experience. 4 years $1,500 Cumulative 3.25 GPA
  Herodotus History Award (1) Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in History. Students desiring to be considered for this award must, as part of their application for admission, submit an education sample of an essay or research paper on a historical topic or person. 4 years $1,500 Cumulative 3.25 GPA
  Nathaniel Willis Journalism Award (1) Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Journalism. Preference will be given to students with a demonstrated interest and past experience in journalism whose application materials, including essays and writing samples, show significant potential. 4 years $1,500 Cumulative 3.25 GPA
  C.S. Lewis Literature Award (1) Awarded to a meritorious student intending to major in Literature. Students desiring to be considered for this award must, as part of their application for admission, submit an education sample of an essay or research paper on a literary topic. 4 years $1,500 Cumulative 3.25 GPA
  Leonidas Classical Language Award (1) Awarded to a meritorious student who has demonstrated excellence in preparation for the study of Latin and/or Greek and who intends to further that study through applicable courses at PHC. 4 years $1,500 Cumulative 3.25 GPA
DEBATE AWARDS
  Frederick Douglass Debate Scholarship (3) Significant achievement in national-level debate competitions. 4 years Up to full tuition Leadership in PHC debate and cumulative GPA of 3.25
  Samuel Adams Debate Scholarship (3) 1st Place winner in the NCFCA National Championship Tournament in the categories of Lincoln Douglas or Team Policy Debate. 4 years Up to full tuition Leadership in PHC debate and cumulative GPA of 3.25
  James Madison Debate Scholarship(3) 2nd Place finisher in NCFCA National Championship Debate Tournament in the categories of Lincoln Douglas or Team Policy Debate. 4 years Up to 65% of tuition Participation and good standing with the PHC debate team and cumulative GPA of 3.0
  Daniel Webster Debate Scholarship (3) Significant achievement in NCFCA National Championship Tournament debate. 4 years Up to 35% of tuition Participation and good standing with the PHC debate team and cumulative GPA of 3.0
  John Jay Debate Scholarship Participant in NCFCA National Championship Tournament. 1 year $500 Non-renewable
Need
  Need Grant Demonstrated financial need as evidenced by the PROFILE® report. (Contact the Financial Aid Office for complete details). Reviewed annually Reflects documented need Cumulative 2.0 GPA. Need verified annually.
Other Grants
  HSLDA Member Grant Active member family in Home School Legal Defense Association by September 1, 2007. 4 years $1,300 Cumulative 2.0 GPA
  Commitment to Courage Grant Students who have served in the U. S. military or whose parent or guardian is currently employed in full-time service in the military, law enforcement, or fire/rescue. 4 years $1,000 Cumulative 2.0 GPA
  Servants' Grant Student with demonstrated need as evidenced by the PROFILE® report whose parent or guardian is employed in full-time Christian ministry. Renewed annually Varies Cumulative 2.0 GPA
  Esther Grant Student with demonstrated need as evidenced by the PROFILE®; report who is an orphan or the dependent of a single parent who is a widow or widower. Renewed annually Reflects Documented Need Cumulative 2.0 GPA

  Private Student Loans Private student loans are available from financial institutions. PHC’s OPE ID No. is 03951300. (Contact the Financial Aid Office for complete details.) Applied for annually Up to cost of attending PHC Reapply annually, as needed
  Student Employment On-campus employment is generally available, but not guaranteed. Rates range from $8.00/hour to $10.00/hour. Employment opportunities are also available in the community. Applied for annually Amount varies by position Exemplary job performance
 

Notes:
1) All scholarship awards are for tuition only and do not apply toward room and board. The maximum total scholarship a student may receive is 100% of tuition.
2) Debate scholarships may not be combined. However, they may be combined with other awards. The total combined award, when a debate award is included, may not exceed 75% of tuition.
3) Transfer students are also eligible for all scholarships and grants.
